Job Description
Summary
The Division of Abdominal Transplantation in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking an energetic and highly organized candidate to support the planning, coordination, and day-to-day execution of research activities within the Center for Xenoliver Transplantation and Immunomodulation at Baylor College of Medicine. This position supports the administration of a $25M award from United Therapeutics Corporation, coordinating personnel, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and program activities across a multidisciplinary research environment. The role partners with faculty, research teams, and institutional stakeholders to ensure effective research operations and advance the Center's academic, clinical, and research priorities.
Job Duties
- Partners with investigators and internal/external stakeholders to translate xenotransplant liver research goals into structure execution plans: facilitates collaboration across teams and monitors progress toward milestones.
- Coordinates implementation of research projects to ensure personnel, resources, timelines, and deliverables stay aligned with expectations of all stakeholders.
- Supports development and maintenance of the program's research plan and day-to-day operations.
- Provides routine updates on project milestones and priorities to Baylor College of Medicine and United Therapeutics leadership.
- Maintains budget and supports financial documentation for research projects.
- Facilitates collaboration among investigators, scientists, administrators, and external partners.
- Prepares grant progress reports, presentations, and summaries for leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders.
- Assists in grant proposal preparation and coordinates administrative components of submissions.
- Coordinates onboarding, training logistics, and documentation for any personnel hired through grant funding.
- Contributes to outreach or professional engagement activities related to the xenotransplant liver program.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in research projects
- Experience with project management
