Position Summary
Roosevelt University, College of Science, Health and Pharmacy, Schaumburg, IL, is seeking applications for a full-time Clinical Faculty member of the Physician Associate [PA] Studies program to begin August 1st 2026. Roosevelt has recently applied for provisional accreditation with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. [ARC-PA] with a planned program start date in August 2028.

Reporting to the Program Director, the Clinical Faculty member is a principal faculty member responsible for supporting the development, coordination, oversight, and evaluation of the clinical phase of the Physician Associate Studies Program. This individual works closely with the Program Director, Medical Director, faculty, staff, clinical sites, and preceptors to ensure that supervised clinical practice experiences support student achievement of program learning outcomes and competencies.

The Clinical Faculty workload may include clinical site development, preceptor recruitment and orientation, clinical course coordination, student advising, teaching, assessment, remediation, accreditation documentation, program evaluation, service, professional development, and scholarship. Specific workload distribution will be determined by the Program Director based on program needs, accreditation requirements, faculty expertise, and institutional workload policy.

Primary responsibilities include:

Clinical Education and SCPE Coordination:

Develop, coordinate, and oversee supervised clinical practice experiences across required disciplines, including family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, pediatrics, women’s health, behavioral and mental health, and electives.
Identify, recruit, evaluate, and maintain qualified clinical sites and preceptors sufficient to support the program’s class size and clinical curriculum needs.
Coordinate student clinical placements, monitor clinical site capacity, and maintain accurate documentation of site availability, preceptor qualifications, licensure, certification, and evaluations.
Assist with affiliation agreement processes in collaboration with the Program Director, institutional leadership, and appropriate university offices.

Preceptor and Clinical Site Oversight:

Implement processes for the initial and ongoing evaluation of clinical sites and preceptors. ·
Orient preceptors to program expectations, course learning outcomes, assessment tools, student supervision requirements, and professional standards.
Maintain regular communication with clinical sites and preceptors to support student learning, address concerns, and strengthen clinical partnerships

Student Assessment, Advising, and Remediation:

Monitor student progress throughout the clinical phase using preceptor evaluations, end-of-rotation assessments, clinical documentation, professionalism evaluations, and other program-defined measures.
Maintain documentation of student performance, advising, remediation, and outcomes in accordance with program and institutional policies.

Curriculum and Program Responsibilities:

Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and revision of the PA curriculum.
Contribute to development and review of the program’s mission, goals, competencies, policies, syllabi, clinical course materials, and assessment tools.
Serve as course director or instructor of record for assigned clinical phase courses and, as needed, selected didactic courses related to clinical preparation, clinical reasoning, procedures, or professional practice.
Participate in student instruction, admissions activities, academic counseling, remediation, summative evaluation, and program evaluation as assigned.
