Temporary Laboratory Technician - Xia Lab

Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Xia Lab is seeking a motivated Summer Laboratory Technician. This position is ideal for a high school student interested in gaining hands-on experience in biomedical research.
Responsibilities

• Assist with routine laboratory experiments and data collection
• Perform basic lab techniques, including:
  • PCR and gel electrophoresis
  • histology, immunostaining and microscopy
• Assist with mouse colony maintenance and genotyping (if applicable)
• Organize laboratory reagents, supplies, and research records
• Participate in laboratory meetings and scientific discussions

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong interest in biomedical research
• Careful attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Work Hours
Full-time summer position (generally 4-8 weeks). Hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
