We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I for Dr. Alexey Danilov’s lab who values teamwork but also aspires to become a project driver. Individuals with prior laboratory experience are encouraged to apply.
His laboratory investigates mechanisms of drug resistance in B-cell malignancies. The laboratory focuses on the role of pro-survival pathways in this setting, and how this signaling can be targeted. In addition to a variety of in vitro models of the stromal niche, Dr. Danilov’s laboratory models lymphoid disease in vivo. The research is highly translational and involves work with primary samples from patients with lymphoid malignancies. Based on laboratory findings, the lab group originates early-phase clinical trials, allowing for verification of laboratory findings in the clinical setting. The lab also conducts analysis of correlative samples from patients enrolled on clinical trials. Dr. Danilov’s laboratory receives funding from the National Cancer Institute (R01), foundation grants and industry partners.
As a successful candidate you will:
· Conduct experiments upon agreed research plan and serve on a research team involved in the investigation of targeting oncogene transcription in lymphomas.
· Be responsible for processing primary blood samples
Your qualifications should include:
· Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience
· Molecular Biology experience preferred
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time
· Must have excellent communication (both written and verbal), analytical and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $25.76 - $29.88 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
