Job Description
Summary
We're seeking a highly motivated & skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team with a focus on clinical care & research. This multifaceted role includes participation in clinical care & treatment of genetics patients with skeletal dysplasias & research activities focused on therapies for genetic diseases. The NP will be instrumental in managing protocols, performing advanced clinical procedures & providing specialized care for patients with rare diseases.
Job Duties
Clinical Care:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with skeletal dysplasias.
- Perform physical exams, assessments, & clinical evaluations to develop & implement personalized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and educate patients and families on proper administration and adherence.
- Assist patients with prior authorization and navigate access to specialty therapies.
- Conduct follow-up visits to ensure continuity of care and optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient needs.
Clinical Research
- Serve as a sub-investigator for clinical trials, contributing to protocol development, implementation, and compliance.
- Serves as a liaison between PI, staff, patients, and sponsors.
- Perform and document study-specific procedures, including consenting, physical exams, adverse events (AE) reviews, and other clinical assessments.
- Provide teaching to participants and family members.
- Conduct lumbar punctures and other advanced procedures such as skin biopsies as required by research protocols.
- Oversee data collection and ensure accurate documentation of research findings.
- Provide clinical and operational support for research activities, including participant recruitment, consent, and education.
- Review and manage study protocols to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and standards of the FDA, GCP, and other regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Required: Master’s degree in in Nursing.
- Experience Required:None required.
- Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- GCP (Good Clinical Practice and CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) certifications are required or must be obtained upon hire.
