What Your Job Will Be Like:

Organization 05419, Kauai Test Facility & Remote Ranges, is seeking a qualified applicant to join our unique team as an R&D General Technologist

The successful candidate will need to be self-directed, innovative, organized, and possess well-developed interpersonal communications skills.

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

  • Manage department-owned lab and assembly bay space in close coordination with the project teams
  • Team with project leadership to procure, receive, organize, and store inventory for electrical and mechanical assemblies of hardware
  • Manage electrical and mechanical calibrations and inventory
  • Assist teams with fielding logistics including manning tables, travel, and training.
  • Assist larger team with mechanical and electrical activity level work, as needed and as appropriate.

Travel is required for this position supporting ground and flight test fielding operations at remote ranges. The ability to travel frequently for extended periods in support of fielding operations (~4-6 times a year, 1-3 weeks duration)

Due to the nature of work, successful candidate must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$62,400 - $120,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • High school diploma plus two years of directly related experience
  • Experience with Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, etc.
  • Inventory or purchasing experience.
  • Active DOE L-level security clearance; or other equivalent active security clearance such as DOD Secret
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical components/systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Existing P-card holder, or willingness and ability to obtain one
  • Knowledge and experience with Rocket Systems
  • Lab management experience
  • Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret Clearance

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
