Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for providing technical expertise in the performance of diagnostic and/or invasive sonography procedures.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
Prepares patient for imaging procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs.
Provide patient education.
Operates specialty imaging equipment for image production and documentation of images.
Performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
Prepares patient’s studies for interpretation by radiologist.
Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
Participates in performance improvement activities by participating in the collection of data for performance improvement activities to ensure quality is consistent with established standards.
Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development by participating in educational activities
Ensures department is TJC compliant.
Adheres to internal controls established for the department.
Participate in training of new hires and teaching of students; provide support to team.
Responsible for assisting with ACR accreditation tasks.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduate from an AMA Accredited ARDMS Program.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES:
Certification from ARDMS Small Parts/Abd/Vascular.
Must be able to obtain and maintain BLS certification.
