Job Summary
The University of Michigan's Information Assurance at Michigan Medicine (IA:MM) team is seeking interested candidates for a Business System Analyst Intermediate position.
This role entails combining business analysis techniques including data gathering, requirements elicitation, analysis, and process improvements with cybersecurity principles to ensure the safeguarding of the institution from internal and external threats.

An ideal candidate is not only well versed in business analysis, but is also goal-oriented, proactive, and is comfortable working within the project management framework. You will be communicating and collaborating with all levels of staff within Michigan Medicine's Academic Medical Center and Regional Health Networks and thus must be proficient in articulating regulatory and technological requirements. This position will also provide you with opportunities to learn different cybersecurity frameworks, regulations, and technologies and apply them in creative ways to solve complex problems.

Division Overview:

The Information Assurance: Michigan Medicine (IA:MM) team was established to protect systems, data, and identities that Michigan Medicine relies upon. The team educates and prepares staff and students for increasing cyber threats and proactively mitigates IT security risks in partnership with the greater U-M community. The IA:MM team enables teaching, learning, research, and healthcare in a large, open environment by helping to balance risks and threats. IA:MM collaborates and coordinates with university efforts and participates in the development of university-wide security, compliance, and privacy strategies and strives to implement best practice cybersecurity efforts.

Responsibilities*
Project Management and Support:

Analyze business problems and find solutions.
Assess assurance capabilities and evaluate design improvements.
Partner with Project Delivery and Organizational Change Management teams to communicate updates and to complete progress reporting.
Help manage flow of information to stakeholders and other impacted users.
Business Analysis and Reporting:

Collect, prioritize, and document technical and business requirements.
Focus on improving efficiency in departmental processes.
Set stakeholder expectations of deliverables through parsing out inter-departmental business requirements and their technical specifications.
Utilize reporting and analytic tools (Service Now, Tableau, Splunk, Excel etc.) to build reports and visualizations that inform business and operational decisions.
Analyze design constraints, trade-offs and detailed system and security design, with consideration of life cycle support and business impact.
Synthesize information assurance trends and intelligence to recommend actions and changes.
Create User Acceptance Testing parameters based on business requirements.
Process Development & Improvement:

Apply various analysis techniques to inform continuous improvement.
Analyze long term impact of a technical solution on its users.
Provide recommendations on how to improve cybersecurity processes to better protect Michigan Medicine.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
2-3 years of Information Technology or Information Assurance related experience.
