Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
The Pharmacy Procurement Analyst plays a crucial role in distribution of medication within the City of Hope Pharmacy Enterprise, directly supporting our mission to provide timely, efficient, and accurate medications and supplies. Reporting to the Manager of Pharmaceutical Procurement, this position ensures appropriate pharmaceutical and supply inventory levels, facilitates prompt payment of pharmacy invoices, and actively manages drug shortages and recalls. Additionally, the analyst responds to inventory-related inquiries and ensures compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program. With strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, the incumbent proactively addresses real-time challenges and prepares for potential supply chain disruptions, shortages, and recalls.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Understands various purchasing systems and procedures for procuring various pharmaceuticals and pharmacy supplies. including but not limited to wholesaler drug catalogs, supply catalogs, etc.).
- Maintains drug inventory and pharmaceutical supply levels that sufficient to meet the clinical and operational needs of the Pharmacy Department based on utilization reports and PAR levels.
- Assesses inventory levels and procures medications and supplies accordingly.
- Manages and tracks loan-and-borrow requests from neighboring institutions.
- Maintains oversight of emergency medications and supplies (Antidote medications, Islet Transplant kit, etc.).
- Assesses purchasing patterns and adjusts inventory levels accordingly to minimize stock outs, waste, and overall drug expenditures.
- Understands the core tenets of the 340B Drug Pricing program (340B accumulations, GPO Prohibition, covered outpatient drugs & non-covered outpatient drugs, 340B “clean site” vs. WAC neutral/mixed-use inventory, free-standing cancer center designation).
- Utilizes MacroHelix to maintain compliance with 340B Drug Pricing Program.
- Facilitate transfer of pharmaceuticals and supplies to requesting City of Hope departments and charge them accurately.
- Identifies and conducts process improvement projects.
- Assist with orientation and guidance for Pharmacy staff on procurement processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications should include:
- High School or equivalent
- Three (3) years performing relevant duties
- Pharmacy Technician Program
- Valid CA Pharmacy Technician License
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training or graduation from a foreign School of Pharmacy, preferred

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $33.00 - $45.71 / hour
