City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
The pharmacist is a licensed professional with supervisory experience, responsible for supporting the director and managers in overseeing departmental operations on a 7-day on/7-day off schedule. This role ensures the efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care and services during the Night shift. The pharmacist contributes to performance improvement and medication safety initiatives through direct involvement or participation in a performance improvement team.
Key responsibilities include supervising human and material resources, supporting program planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing workflow, and promoting safety initiatives. The pharmacist also assists in staff evaluation and provides input on budget, revenue, and expense management while enforcing organizational and regulatory policies.
In this leadership role, the pharmacist assigns tasks, coaches, trains, and evaluates employees. They are expected to engage in constructive problem-solving and foster professional relationships to effectively manage staff and address challenges that arise during the Night shift.

- Promotes the delivery of quality care consistent with the scope of practice of the discipline.
- Supports care for a defined group of patients using effective delegation, supervision and decision-making skills.
- Adhere to all professional and regulatory standards.
- Maintains current knowledge, skills and competencies through involvement in departmental and professional continuing education activities.
- Effectively and efficiently uses resources.
- Promotes collaboration and teamwork among all members of the healthcare team.
- Fosters involvement in medication safety and performance improvement activities to promote continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
- Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- Current CA Pharmacist License
- American Heart Association BLS certification

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $68.20 - $109.12 / hour
