Augusta University's Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship supports research and scholarly activity by undergraduate students. We provide programming and financial support for faculty-student scholarly collaborations through a wide range of services. We are a proud member institution of the national Council on Undergraduate Research.
Job Summary
The Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day operations of the CURS Program, which includes recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in research and scholarship. The Coordinator will manage the office in the absence of the Director. The Coordinator provides planning of programming that encourages and supports student engagement in research as well as relevant opportunities for faculty mentor development. The broad scope of the position is one that will assist the Director in overseeing and expanding inquiry-based activities that prepare highly qualified students who are competitive for graduate and professional school programs and the workforce.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:

PROGRAMMING: Plan, schedule, and facilitate the ongoing programming (workshops, tours, conferences, summer program, grants, etc.) and assist the director in developing new programming as needed; ensure communications with relevant parties. Coordinate CURS office communications and publications (e.g., Newsletter and Arsenal Journal submission, editing, and publication process; recruit, and train reviewers and staff.
SUMMER SCHOLAR PROGRAM: Coordinate the student hiring process for the summer scholars program, approve student time reporting, and supervise student assistants and student ambassadors.
ADVISING: Conduct advising and education with students interested in research participation, student Ambassadors, prospective AU students
GENERAL DUTIES: Assist the director in planning and execution of data collection for learning outcomes, office assessments, and impact reports.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with one year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience in advising, tutoring, or leading students in a higher education setting
Experience in programming to enhance student leadership and professional development
Experience in carrying out research at the undergraduate or graduate level
Experience in preparing budgets, purchasing, and fiscal projections
Mentoring students in undergraduate research
Quantitative and qualitative data analysis
Manuscript preparation and/or review for publication
Social Media management. Successful experience with grant writing and management
Teaching in higher education and/or professional development
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills
Public speaking skills; one-on-one advising and consulting skills
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Pay Band: B6
Salary: $18.85/hourly - $19.15/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
Recruitment Period: 3/14/2025 - 3/21/2025
