Job Description
Summary
The position will assist patients with completing appropriate eligibility forms for The Healthy Texas Women and The Family Planning Programs. This will include helping patients gather the necessary information to successfully qualify them and accompany and support them through the process. Coordinates scheduling patient appointments, transportation and other needed services. Will work in one of eight clinic locations. Each clinic is typically staffed with a Patient Support Services Coordinator, A Medical Assistant a Nurse (RN or LVN) and a Nurse Practitioner.
The Baylor Teen Health Clinic currently provides pregnancy testing, family planning, sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and HIV/AIDS education and screening, primary healthcare, and case management services to teens, their partners, and adolescents in Harris County. The clinics provide services to teens from the age of 13-24.
Services We Provide:
• Comprehensive Exams (Male & Female).
• Gynecological services.
• Birth control and family planning.
• Sexually transmitted disease screening and treatment.
• Primary healthcare.
• Immunizations.
• HIV/AIDS education and screening.
Job Duties
Duties include patient interaction, customer service and basic office skills.
- Greets, orients and answers patient's questions.
- Assist and guides patients through the eligibility process.
- Records and maintains reports and data to manage patient qualification status and to support operational activities.
- Must manage multiple task and deadlines using organizational skills.
- Performs customer service duties.
- May be required to travel to any of the eight clinic locations.
- Serves as a "back-up" for operational matters which will include processing purchase and supply orders. Managing supply and medication inventory, and assist in other administrative or operational tasks.
- Enters additional information into other databases, and tracking patient information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Experience withTexas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership (TMHP).
- Experience working with the State's Family Planning or Healthy Texas Women Programs.
