Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Information Systems at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Cameron School of Business invites applications for a Professor of Practice in Information Systems to begin August 2025.

This is a full-time non-tenure track position that requires a Ph.D. in Information Systems from a nationally accredited institution. Recent industry experience is preferred. The appointment is initially limited to one year, but renewal is anticipated upon review, whereby subsequent appointments will result in progressively longer contracts.

The successful candidate is expected to teach seven sections combined in the fall and spring semesters. Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to service (examples include but are not limited to committee work, professional talks, and mentoring), research (examples include but are not limited to presentations at meetings and conferences and publications in field of interest), and professional impact activities (examples include but are not limited to executive education involvement, building and maintaining relationships with industry partners, alumni engagement, business consultancy that includes students) that positively enhance the school, business community, and society.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
A Ph.D. degree in Information Systems or a closely related field from a nationally accredited institution.
Ability and willingness to teach introduction to information systems and at least one of the following areas (in order of preference): network and system administration, IT strategy and management, and software development.
A record of research that is related to the primary areas of teaching.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Ability and willingness to teach in-person and online courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Industry experience related to the areas of teaching and research.
Ability and willingness to participate in professional outreach, including engagement with advisory board members and participation in career events.
Ability and willingness to engage with the campus community, including students, faculty, and university administration.
Ability and willingness to teach in more than one of the areas included in the Minimum Education and Experience Requirements listed above.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Congdon School of Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Information Systems supports the Bachelor of Science with concentrations in Business Analytics, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and Supply Chain Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. At the graduate level, the School supports the Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and Master of Science in Supply Chain Management
