Martin North Hospital’s 5NW Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides compassionate care for post-operative vascular and thoracic patients, including the placement of chest tubes and arterial bypasses. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Martin North Hospital’s Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be responsible forproviding direct nursing care, monitoring, recordingand communicating patients’ condition, implementingand monitoringpatient care plans and administering medications and treatments. On this nursing team, you will feel supported and appreciated for the knowledge you mustshare, have access to our advanced technology and research to ensure all patients receive world-class care and make meaningful differences in patients’ lives every day.

The hours for this full-time position are 7PM-7:30AM.

Required qualifications for the ideal candidate include:

· Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.

· Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).

· Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.

· Minimum one-year PCU RN experience.

· Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
