What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking two Team Leads to support Logistics Operations.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Oversee non-exempt and exempt members of the workforce, within the team, and work with the organization's manager on hiring, professional development, and assessment and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization.
- Promote excellence by managing and coordinating specific deliverables, overall team goals, budgets, structures, schedules, and staffing requirements.
- Deliver results and engage the team as a hands-on leader by effectively motivating, inspiring, and driving the team for career progression and learning.
- Troubleshoot all Transportation and Receiving complaints to find the root cause, help resolve the issue, and help prevent re-occurrence.
- Implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
- Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation, warehouse activities, and safety performance.
- Apply specialized knowledge and experience to independently judge work quality, performance, and alignment of results with customer expectations.
- Ensure compliance with a wide-range of regulatory requirements, including Nuclear Criticality and
- Department of Energy (DOE) STD 1027-92 , Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials
- Regulations (49CFR), International Air Traffic Association (IATA), Nuclear Federal Codes (10CFR), DOE
- Explosives Safety Manual (DOE M440.1-1A), and Office of Transportation Safeguards Operations.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and following all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$95,400 - $157,500
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Two or more years of leadership experience.
- Two or more years of experience in a shipping and receiving environment.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Two or more years of leadership experience of 20 or more employees.
- Five or more years of leadership experience of 10 or more employees.
- Five or more years experience in a shipping and receiving environment.
- Solid organization, time keeping skills and detail oriented.
About Our Team:
Department 10261, oversees the Shipping, Packaging, Corporate Storage and Mail functions of Sandia National Laboratories. Our Shipping team processes and packages outbound property and material which may include hazardous, non-hazardous, classified, and unclassified, for both domestic and international destinations. Our Corporate Storage team manages over 140,000 square feet of storage space, that includes explosives and RAD material and are responsible for the onsite transportation of hazardous materials. Our Mail team is responsible for the delivery of both internal and USPS Mail throughout out the Laboratory which also includes classified material.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
