Description
The Office of Institutional Research invites applications for a Computer System Analyst II to provide expert data management, analysis, and reporting services. This role supports university-wide decision-making by delivering accurate and actionable insights through data. The Analyst works under the direction of the Director of Institutional Research and collaborates extensively with various university stakeholders, ensuring alignment with academic and administrative goals.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the collection, organization, and maintenance of data for institutional research purposes, including compliance and accreditation efforts.
Support the Computer System Analyst III in the use of data management tools to retrieve, analyze, and disseminate information.
Maintain accuracy and consistency in data definitions and standards as part of the university's data governance initiatives.
Assist in handling data cleaning, validation, and report generation for ongoing university projects.
Support the development of data visualizations and reports under the guidance of the Computer System Analyst III.
Contribute to statistical analyses and predictive modeling efforts to enhance university planning and operational effectiveness.
Contribute to the identification, reporting, and analysis of institutional key performance indicators (KPIs).
Manage the administration of surveys, analyze results, and report findings to enhance university operations and policies.
Assist in the development and standardization of survey methodologies across the campus.
Act as a liaison for the Data Office in meetings to ensure compliance with university data standards.
Collaborate with data stewards across campus to ensure accurate and validated data definitions.
Facilitate a data-driven culture within the university through effective reporting and visualization.
Provide decision support through data analysis and documentation for campus stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a data-related field (statistics, mathematics, computer science, etc.) or a relevant field with demonstrably strong analytical skills.
Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting tools such as SQL, Excel, and Tableau.
Understanding of basic data management and analysis principles.
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of university stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, capable of presenting data insights to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a data-related field (statistics, mathematics, computer science, etc.) or a relevant field with demonstrably strong analytical skills.
Experience in an institutional research setting, particularly in higher education.
Familiarity with higher education data systems such as Ellucian Banner and IPEDS.
Advanced certification in data analysis or project management is beneficial.
