Qualifications:
Math 334 (Differential Equations) is a first course in the theory and application of ordinary differential equations for students who have successfully completed Math 238 (Calculus 2). Topics for first-order equations include integrating factors, separation of variables, numerical methods, and existence and uniqueness theorems. Methods for higher-order equations include undetermined coefficients, variation of parameters, power series solutions, and Laplace transformations. Systems of first-order equations are also discussed.
This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2025 Spring term on Monday and Wednesday from 5:10 - 6:25 pm.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Mathematics or closely related field. Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the course or Math 134.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $7,449 - $10,308 (3 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
