The GPU, Graphics, and Displays team is looking for a impact-oriented, passionate client and build engineer with a background in client development and build systems to bring our platform and infrastructure to the next level. If you enjoy working on large build systems, building critical client applications, working with partners to solve ambiguous problems, and coming up with what's next, then this role may be just for you.
Description
We are constantly evolving our systems at Apple, and the next big thing in the tools used by the Graphics and Displays teams is just on the horizon. This Client Engineer is responsible for building client applications that execute the build steps to produce software for billions of devices. This includes writing clean Objective-C, Python, and/or Swift code, integrating with web APIs, and debugging issues. Many engineering teams across Apple use these tools and this engineer will have the opportunity to work with these teams to understand their interests and plan a path forward to deliver on those needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Highly proficient in Objective-C
- Highly proficient in Python
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving, triaging, and debugging skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of client development or build experience
- Familiarity with Swift
- Experience building web services and APIs (REST, GraphQL, GRPC, OpenAPI, etc)
- Familiarity with SQL databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, MariaDB, etc)
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
