Clinical Health Psychologist: Hepatology and Liver Disease Medical Home

The Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease Institute and Neurological Institute are recruiting a Health Psychologist with specialization in a new model of care: The Hepatology and Liver Disease Medical Home.

Cleveland Clinic is a World Class academic medical center and our Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition is a national leader in the treatment of liver disease and hepatological conditions. We are establishing an integrated care medical home within the department's hepatology and liver disease clinics. The Medical Home model of care provides an integrated patient-centered population health approach to management and treatment of liver disease and hepatological conditions with a team that includes hepatologists, nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators, social work, and a dietitian. Candidates would provide comprehensive evaluations and individual and group-based interventions for patients with a variety of hepatological conditions, including fatty liver disease, chronic liver conditions, and alcohol related liver disease. Our department offers a rich multidisciplinary collaborative environment for research and education. Educational opportunities include the teaching of students, trainees, and post-doctoral fellows in health psychology and other disciplines in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM; a branch of Case Western Reserve University). The successful applicant will be appointed to the CCLCM at a level commensurate with experience.

Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA- or CPA-accredited psychology program, completed predoctoral internship, and have completed a postdoctoral fellowship with experience in health psychology. Eligibility for licensure in Ohio is essential. Strong candidates will possess expertise in the provision of evidence-based treatments (such as CBT, MI, ACT, hypnosis, and biofeedback) for health-related depression, anxiety, and pain, as well as experience working with patients diagnosed with a chronic medical condition. Strong candidates should also have interest in research, supervising trainees in health psychology, and program development and implementation.

Cleveland Clinic is a nonprofit, multi-specialty academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. Today, with nearly 1,300 beds on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and 6,026 beds system-wide, Cleveland Clinic is one of the largest and most respected hospitals in the country.
