As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to injured/ill patients on-site or on the way to our hospital.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
- Performing drug/fluid administration.
- Maintaining the equipment.
- Administering appropriate emergency medical care including life support procedures and decontamination protocols.

The ideal caregiver is someone who:
• Can work under minimal supervision and is motivated daily.
• Works well in a close-knit, teambuilding environment.
• Has a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Has strong critical thinking skills.
• Currently is licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP), has a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

A caregiver in this Day/Evening rotation works 12-hour shift on variable days. 11:00 am – 11:00 pm
A caregiver who excels in this role, will:
- Obtains and records vital signs.
- Maintains equipment.
- Assesses nature and extent of illness/injury and patient\'s history from available sources.
- Determines appropriate independent or collaborative response.
- Administers appropriate emergency medical care including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, obtaining EKG readings and vital statistics monitoring.
- May perform fluid/drug administration.
- If on transport team, they will communicate with medical personnel at hospital, reports/records observations, and follows directives until report and hand-off at hospital.
- Also, they may navigate ambulance to scene of accident in response to emergency calls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
- Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic EMT in the State of Florida.
- Current, valid Florida driver\'s license (VDL) and insurable through Cleveland Clinic\'s liability carrier.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) HealthCare Provider card.
- EVOC certificate.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) preferred.
- If in an ED, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
- Current valid State Driver\'s License (VDL) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
