About this OpportunityThe Ball State University Digital Corps is an on-campus creative agency powered by students. We’re problem solvers and big thinkers. The role of Developer is a one-of-a-kind position that combines the best of IT support and development with the altruistic aims of empowering students to learn, grow, and succeed in their creative disciplines. Ideal candidates will have a shared passion for student success, empowerment, and engagement. Part teacher, part mentor, part techie… this position requires face-to-face work with undergraduate students and hands-on work with myriad development projects across campus.

Position Function
This position will play a pivotal role in several key initiatives, including the implementation of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies, the ongoing development and management of IT website properties, and the university’s utilization of the Pathify/MyBallState platform. The Digital Corps Developer position is an on-campus (non-remote) role.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university by the date of appointment. Or, in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree:
● Associate’s degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in computer science equivalent to two years.
Or
● High school diploma or GED plus an additional combination of education or experience in computer science equivalent to four years.
Minimum Experience
At least two years of full-stack web development experience. Knowledge of TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Git, React, and relational databases. Experience with large language models and AI.
Minimum Other
Crucial soft skills – like time management, collaboration, and creativity – are highly valued. Communication skills, problem-solving, and adaptability.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with WordPress development, backend frameworks like AdonisJS, Laravel, or .Net, and deployment strategies for projects, including AI, that utilize cloud services of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Preferred Other
