Registered Nurse - Occupational Health

The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Employee Health Program and, as such, is responsible for employee and facility compliance and adherence to local, state and federal regulations.

The successful candidate:

  • Coordinate and implement the employee health program to provide a safe and healthy environment for stakeholders and ensures facility compliance with rules and regulations. Provide clinical services to employees in this capacity.
  • Implement program goals and policies that have been established for employee health. Annually review goals and policies relevant to employee health, including policies for individual departments Plans for and participate in clinics, health fairs and wellness committee and wellness events.
  • Responsible for performing health assessments of all new hires, including lab testing for titers and tuberculosis screening. Provide vaccinations for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis. As needed provide screening for vision and color testing. Assess appropriateness and eligibility for respiratory fit-testing.
  • Provide annual screening for tuberculosis for all healthcare providers, annual fit testing or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) training for clinical staff and annual employee health screenings. Perform ergonomic assessments for employees to minimize job-related injuries and provide recommendations for ergonomic equipment as needed. Educate on proper use of equipment.
  • Manage employee injury program and Worker’s Compensation benefits. Manage the Worker’s Compensation cases to prevent loss to the company and return the injured worker to full job status as soon as possible. Work with the Worker’s Compensation provider to minimize loss time and minimize cost of injury through investigation of accidents and follow up on all injured employees during recovery to assure compliance to restrictions.
  • Prepare reports for and attend Infection Control, Safety and Environment of Care Committee meetings, provide guidance and act as a facility resource on all aspects of employee health and wellness. Prepare and maintains employee medical records, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports and vaccination reports for employees. Maintain records and submit annual OSHA 300 report to federal electronic repository by March 1st annually to be in compliance with the Industrial Commission of Arizona and Department of Labor. Participate in OSHA investigations and surveys. Prepare annual report on Influenza vaccination data per NHSN guidelines and prepare and post annual OSHA data report by Feb 1st.
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Active IL state RN License
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in employee health and/or infection control preferred
  • Basic Life Support BLS through American Heart Association.
  • BSN degree preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $31.90 - $52.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
