ROLE SUMMARY

The International Medical Communications & Content (MCC) team is part of the Global Medical Engagement and Impact (MEI) platform within the Global Chief Medical Affairs (CMAO) Office. The International MCC team drives local medical channel content strategy across the Oncology, Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Vaccines portfolio across our International Division. The team aligns closely with the Global & US Medical Channel Content Teams and other key cross-functional partners to conceptualize, adapt/develop, and disseminate all ex-US medical content through publications, congresses, medical-to-medical interactions, digital channels, and other newly prioritized internal and external ex-US specific medical channels.

The Medical Communications & Content Senior Manager will;

  • Partner with country medical affairs colleagues to deliver an end-to-end customer centric medical channel content strategy across Pfizer medicines and therapeutic areas within ex-US countries/regions, to optimize the engagement and reach of emerging scientific information with healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders.

  • Will have innovative ideas to inspire and lead the execution of medical channel content strategies, aligned to global and local needs, enhancing the way medical affairs engages externally to deliver complex medical/scientific material in a relevant, engaging, and memorable way. Through strategic thinking and data driven insights the role will support country medical teams to deliver integrated, customer centric omnichannel strategies for medical content.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver and execute local medical channel content strategies across assigned medicine(s) / therapeutic area (i.e., Oncology, Primary Care, Specialty Care, Vaccines) within ex-US markets (eg. Canada, EU, APAC, MERA, LATAM, China) to optimize the engagement and reach of emerging Pfizer scientific data.
  • Lead efficient local adaptation of global medical content as well as development of limited new local content in alignment with therapeutic area strategies, country regulations, and established enterprise standards for EU, Canada, LATAM, APAC IDM, MERA/APAC EM, China.
  • Partner with country medical affairs colleagues to understand local insights, therapeutic area strategy, and alignment with global strategy, and prioritise localisation/development of content that delivers against the agreed strategy and needs of customers.
  • Drive content re-use and ensure content creation is limited to locally prioritized assets for which no global content is available.
  • Ensure alignment with the commercial channel strategy where appropriate, in order to optimize the customer experience and maintain the highest standards of compliance.
  • Understand the customer journey and experience through customer and market insights that can inform optimal medical content format and channel strategy.
  • Adapt/develop content through to approvability taking into consideration planned use of material and compliance with internal policy and local Codes.
  • Build/adapt, translate, and personalize global/US content to ex-US local markets (e.g., language, compliance) in alignment with global/local medical scientific strategies/narratives and locally-prioritized medicines in select geographies.
  • Local content includes: publications, congress content, advisory board content, social media/digital platforms, and any other type of content for new priority local medical channels.
  • Navigate country medical reviews with associated requirements to ensure timely review, approval and posting of content on the appropriate channel.
  • Work closely with the content teams within the platform function to provide input into content strategies and identify new ideas and solutions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for local medical congresses with cross-functional teams in support of Pfizer’s key data and scientific presence.
  • Stay abreast of country regulations and guidance that impact digital delivery of scientific information to external HCPs.
  • Stay current on all relevant Pfizer SOPs and guidance documents.
  • Produce analytics reports, and project scorecards as required, in line with KPIs.
  • Share content engagement metrics with country medical affairs colleagues to evaluate performance and tailor future strategies.
  • Actively mentor other team members and external vendors for effective execution of assigned tasks and goals.
  • Keep abreast of current literature, emerging science, medical trends, and technological developments and for enhancing content review and development.
  • Consistently demonstrate Pfizer values, working effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring integrity, performance, and teamwork.

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific/healthcare degree required (PharmD, PhD, MS, etc.)
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector with 3+ years experience in Medical Affairs/Scientific Publications/Medical Communications

  • Experience with scientific peer-reviewed publications, global medical communications, and industry publication best practices
  • Represent a function within a matrix organization through a strong track record of excellent presentation, customer facing, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to develop and present scientific information to varied audiences and articulate messages succinctly
  • Understand detailed technical information and convey complex ideas to a variety of audience types and cultures
  • Quickly build rapport and credibility with key internal and key external stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills
  • Fully conversant with relevant regulations and Pfizer policies and procedures acquired through training
  • Must be decisive, exercise good judgment in decisions, organized and with the ability to prioritize a large workload
  • Strong organizational skills to track numerous tasks for multiple simultaneous projects in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently in a matrix environment with shown flexibility and organizational awareness

Language requirements

  • Fluent written and oral skills in local language of designated country/ies

  • Experience in assigned therapeutic area.
  • Experience in assigned countries/geographies.
  • Omnichannel experience preferred.
