Summary
An enthusiastic postdoctoral associate who will work on independent and collaborative projects, and who will contribute to the vibrant and team-oriented laboratory environment.The candidate is expected to drive and take ownership of their research project, design and perform biological experiments with rigor, be highly organized and communicative, and maintain high work ethics. We especially welcome applicants who are recent graduates and are interested in pursuing an independent academic career
Job Duties
- Designs, optimizes, and executes research experiments to answer questions related to research projects.
- Responsible for experimental design, analysis of resulting data, and data interpretation independently (with guidance from the PI or other lab members).
- Works collaboratively with other lab members, senior researchers, and faculty members at the departmental or inter-institutional levels. ● - Manages time and multiple projects efficiently while prioritizing deadlines and projects.
- Assists PI in training and mentoring research staff and undergraduate and graduate students as appropriate.
- Communicates their findings with other scientists at local, national, and international scientific conferences.
- Other duties will include presentation and preparation of data into figures, written project updates, oral presentations (including lab meetings, journal clubs) to support manuscript writing for publication and grant proposals.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or Immunology.
- Strong background in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or cancer biology is desirable.
- Previous experience with CRISPR technology and/or CRISPR screens will be considered as an advantage.
- The candidate should be willing to work with mice and/or be comfortable at mouse handling.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- The applicant should have a strong publication record (at least one peer reviewed first-author research article) and have experiences in presenting at national or international meetings.
