Postdoctoral Fellow

The lab focuses on understanding how initially therapy-sensitive tumors avoid elimination and acquire resistance and figuring out how to account for this knowledge in therapy design.  https://lab.moffitt.org/marusyk/research/

 

Position Highlights:

  • The project will investigate reciprocal changes within tumor cells and stromal microenvironment during the course of the acquisition of resistance to targeted therapies in lung cancer.
  • Moffitt integrates excellent patient care with cutting-edge clinical and basic research. Having a cancer hospital on-site provides unique opportunities for translational research.
  • Outstanding mentorship from expert faculty with wide-ranging funded research programs including T32 Training Grants.
  • You will be encouraged and supported to apply for training grants.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Solid research experience in the field of tumor microenvironment
  • Expertise in histology analysis techniques
  • Experience with experimental animal models
  • Competency in basic bioinformatical analyses
  • Experience in collaboration with mathematical modelers is highly preferable

 

Responsibilities:

  • Devise and execute studies focused on therapy-induced reciprocal changes in tumor cells and stromal microenvironment.
  • Design and perform experiments, analyze the data

 

 

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • PhD in experimental biology field
  • Expertise in standard molecular biology techniques
  • Track record of productivity
  • Competency in scientific communication
  • Adequate understanding of the field and the ability to work with literature
