The Senior Tax Accountant, under minimum supervision, applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures to prepare informational tax returns for a group of tax-exempt entities. This position also provides assistance and support to the Director and represents the department as requested in the Director’s absence.

As a successful candidate, you will:
- Prepare and review various federal and state tax returns and forms for multiple tax-exempt organizations. i.e., 990s, 990-T, RRF-1 etc.
- Identify and track unrelated business Income activities.
- Research and keep current with the tax laws and reporting responsibilities.
- Develop 'best practices', including policies and tool kits in managing resulting tax risks.
- Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prepare sales tax returns for the organization.
- Coordinate new trust and gift annuity checklists.
- Monitor in-kind gifts. Coordinate form 8283 with donors for accuracy. File form 8282 with Internal Revenue Service when appropriate.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline
- 5 years experience working as tax accountant. Preferably in a tax-exempt organization (501(c)(3)s environment.

Salary range $87,172 - $135,137

Pay Rate: $41.92 - $64.97 / hour
