Our Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are highly skilled in providing direct patient care and play a crucial role within the healthcare team. Under the direction of a physician and licensed nurse, our team is intimately involved in the personal care of their patients, often aiding with every aspect of daily living. Our hands-on approach allows our LPNs to grasp a deeper understanding of the required care and the opportunity to significantly influence health outcomes.

The LPN position supports multiple clinic functions including:

  • Provides disease management with an understanding of oncology, chemotherapy and side effects, can monitor and address symptoms.

  • Works with patients and families to provide and understanding of their disease, their treatment plans, and address patient quality of life issues.

  • Documents assessment and interventions entered in a timely manner in the electronic medical record.

  • Collaborates with and supports providers with daily assistance in managing and coordinating patient care.

  • Evaluates and assesses health issues presented by patients and their caregivers and communicates pertinent and necessary issues to the patient.

  • This position will be focused on the coordination of physician referrals and patients within our collaborative care agreements.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of an approved LPN nursing school/program.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Minimum two years medical/surgical or oncology experience preferred

  • Previous office experience desirable

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • Must have an active license in the state of employment

  • Must have an active BLS certification, AHA preferred

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $20.96 - $34.52 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
