Area of Focus: Urgent Care

This is a full-time position with 36 hours a week, consisting of 12-hour shifts where you will work 3 days a week.

City of Hope Atlanta is seeking a Senior Patient Care Technician who will be responsible for phlebotomy, including starting intravenous lines and obtaining samples for lab tests.

  • Collects vital signs, intake and output, pain levels and other assigned patient information. Reports to the registered nurse any change in patient status, patient behavior, or unusual findings of data or incidents that might have occurred.

  • Documents accurately in the medical record the care that was delivered, activities completed, and other data that is collected for the patient.

  • Coordinates and directs activities of the unit to allow the transfer of information between staff, physicians, departments, patients and family. Assists patient families by providing general information and direction, notifying other disciplines of patient or family needs as they arise.

  • Performs lab draws per hospital policy in various departments. Initiates IV using aseptic technique in accordance with established competencies.

  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting of patient needs.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Six months prior experience in a medical setting.

Required Licensure & Certification:

  • Must be EMT certified

  • PCT certification or CNA license desirable, but not required.

  • Current BLS required.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $18.94 - $29.28 / hour
