About this Opportunity
The School of Nursing seeksFamily Nurse Practitioner (FNP) part-time semester adjunct faculty members to teach in the NP track of the online MS and/or the on-campus BS programs. Candidates also interested in a small administrative assignment facilitating clinical hour verification of our Master’s and Post-Master’s graduates related to certification and employment would be of particular interest to the School.

Description
Family Nurse Practitioner serving as a part-time semester adjunct faculty member with appropriate nursing specialization to teach in undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Responsibilities include teaching in classroom, clinical, and/or simulation environments in BS courses; and/or teaching in the Family Nurse Practitioner Track of the online MS in Nursing program. Work assignments, days, times, and locations vary. The position requires the incorporation of evidence-based practice into teaching activities and includes pre-planning and post-semester grading periods. Position may be renewed based on the needs of the program and satisfactory student evaluations.

Candidates also interested in a small administrative assignment facilitating clinical hour verification of our graduates related to certification and employment would be of particular interest to the School.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach in classroom, clinical, and/or simulation environments in baccalaureate courses for adult health, medical-surgical, psychiatric mental health, and other courses as appropriate; and/or teach in the Family Nurse Practitioner Track of the MS in Nursing program.
and/or
Facilitate clinical hour verification of our graduates related to certification and employment.
and
Keep abreast of recent developments in nursing and incorporate into teaching.

Actively contribute to the professional life of the School of Nursing, the College of Health, and Ball State University.
Minimum Qualifications
Earned baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Earned master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
Demonstrated knowledge, competence, and experience in an advanced nursing practice role
(1 yr. minimum).
Excellent organizational, and written and oral interpersonal communication skills.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in higher education.
Earned doctorate in nursing from an accredited college or university.
Ability to use and integrate technology in nursing education.
Current clinical practice as an FNP.
Required Certifications/Licensures
Current unencumbered State of Indiana Registered Nurse License
National certification as an FNP

Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check., Requires successful completion of a controlled substance test.
