Job Description

Summary

Patient Business Services is seeking a Patient Insurance Specialist II to assist with financially clearing patients for upcoming scheduled services.

Job Duties

  • Investigates and verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for scheduled services.
  • Creates and collects patient out of pocket estimates.
  • Financial clears office visits that may involve minor procedures for specialist services.
  • Contact external PCP offices to initiate and secure insurance PCP referral approvals for Baylor specialists
  • Obtains insurance PCP referral approvals on behalf of Baylor PCP's
  • Answers Insurance Verification Helpline calls and emails to resolve insurance questions from patients and clinical departments
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Corresponds with insurance companies to review denied services and provides recourse for payment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic.
  • Multi-Specialty insurance verification experience.
  • Pre-service verification experience.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
