Job Description

The Patient Experience Partner (PEP) will be responsible for translating patient support programs and patient project strategies into operations and delivery. The individual will be familiar with system scope and project objectives– and effectively coordinate the activities with the team and manage project information and communications to all stakeholders in the field and senior management.

  • Focuses on patient experience by understanding needs of patients across categories in the market to achieve better state of care through key stakeholder engagement.
  • Helps improve the patient journey experience and assigned as the program owner for patient support programs/patient projects.
  • Works with Key stakeholders to understand patient needs: External stakeholders (HCPs and Institutions) and/ or Internal Stakeholders (Health Solution Partner (HSP), Strategic Health Partner (SHP), Medical, Marketing, Patient and Health Impact (PHI)).

Direct patient engagement would be limited to unbranded corporate communication (if permissible by local law).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands the patient journey and collects insights (xBU or BU specific) to identify hurdles and opportunities for partnerships to enhance patient experience
  • Builds solutions and initiatives tailored to the patient journey needs
  • Leverages technology to enable better patient experience
  • Operationalizes compliant implementation of the programs, initiatives, internal process, ongoing oversight or follow-up
  • Ensures close communication and partnership with key internal relevant colleagues: Medical, Marketing, HSP, SHP, Patient Advocacy Leads, PHI.
  • Builds affordability programs and solutions with internal Stakeholder to increase access to medication
  • Responsible for unbranded Disease awareness communications

Business Outcome:

  • Drives patient outcomes program(s) (such as but not limited to affordability programs) to ensure timely access of Pfizer innovative medicine to patients in Egypt.
  • Achieves/exceeds the annual KPIs for the assigned projects.
  • Partners with senior management and regional team to develop the project strategy and optimize delivery in terms of time, cost, value, implementation and risk.
  • Focuses our virtual and in-house team on KPIs delivery, ensuring corporate metrics are achieved in an optimized and value driven way.
  • Aligns cross-functional, operational activities and communications involving team members and internal Pfizer partners (Marketing, Medical, DSU, MQCM, Legal, Regulatory,) with minimal supervision.
  • Ensures linkage between strategy and program(s) implementation.
  • Identifies issues and facilitates problem-solving, contingency planning, and decision-making by focusing on Core therapeutic areas and products to help patients with low affordability levels get access to Pfizer medicines.
  • Collaborates with multiple internal/external partners, including other brand-aligned stakeholders, and propose recommendations to optimize program(s) execution & outcomes and efficiently meet or exceed strategic marketing goals for these key programs in Egypt.
  • Proactively manages opportunities / potential risks to ensure patient support program success & KPIs achievement.
  • Participates with Marketing and Medical managers along with commercial team in the planning and strategies of new patient support program(s) design, implementation and follow up on its launch activities ensuring timelines are met.
  • Works very closely with Marketings, Health and Value & BU leads to achieve the assigned project(s) deliverables.
  • Ensures that vendor staff assigned for Pfizer programs are continuously trained, empowered & motivated to meet the program(s) objectives

Operational Excellence:

  • Leads the execution / implementation of patient outcomes project(s)/program(s).
  • Achieves key patient outcomes project(s)/program(s) KPIs for Pfizer portfolio.
  • Manages CSP (company sponsored programs) Process from initiation to approval, program launch and follow up in addition to documentation for program(s) reports / data.
  • Works closely with Drug safety unit & biopharma quality led to manage patient outcomes program(s)
  • Lead Pfizer representation, both within and outside Pfizer, for the assigned Project(s)
  • Assess the currently running patient support programs/patient projects in Egypt Market.
  • Explore innovative approaches to optimize patient support programs.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders including follow up visits with HCPs.
  • Monitor weekly and monthly reports received by the vendor as applicable.
  • Vendor oversight to ensure flawless execution of the patient support programs and
  • Address any issues that might arise, in collaboration with the PEL Lead.
  • Works very closely and cross functionally with the marketing team (CBL/CBMs) and commercial team (BU Leads).
  • Ensures that the project (s) / program(s) are set in place with clear objectives – maintain close follow up & implementation for the key patient outcomes program(s) with the selected vendor(s) and ensure compliance to Pfizer policies.
  • Actively participates in key strategic projects, including Global Affordability Hub.
  • Leads and creates the environment consistent with Pfizer Values.
  • Ensures compliance to FCPA and Global Policy on Interaction with Healthcare professionals (GPIHPP).
  • Implements all company’s policies & procedures, maintain consistency & uniformity of systems, and develops local SOPs when appropriate and required.
  • Sets high standards of performance for self & others.
  • Recognizes and celebrates team success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in healthcare science (or equivalent). Business Management degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years in Sales and Commercial experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Acts decisively in complex and fast-moving environment
  • Implementation/execution skills
  • Experience in developing and managing Patient Assistance programs is an advantage.
  • Track record of compliant execution of CSPs “customer Sponsored programs”.
  • Thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and Healthcare environment.
  • Successful Project Management experience in complex environment.
  • Market Access and Partnership development experiences is a plus.
  • Ability to assimilate clinical and market knowledge of the therapy areas in scope.
  • Computer literate including operating Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word, Electronic Customer Management Systems.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage.
