Role Summary

The Biopharm team in Worldwide R&D at Pfizer seeks a Summer Intern to support the development of a new mechanistic model for understanding the role of different species in solution during dissolution and permeation processes. This effort is part of the development of spray-dried dispersion. The successful candidate must be proficient in fundamental engineering and physical concepts such as mass, momentum, and energy transport phenomena and should possess strong mathematical skills to set up and solve linear, non-linear, and differential equations. Additionally, strong programming and coding skills, along with experience in numerical techniques, are required. Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, R, MATLAB, etc., is essential. Close collaboration with Pfizer project scientists is crucial, so excellent communication skills are a must. This summer intern position is available for six months, and the candidate will be expected to work remotely with Pfizer scientists.

Qualifications

Actively registered in B. Tech dual degree/M.Tech program at IIT Madras with available project credits Proficiency in algebraic equation solving, ODE and PDE solving background, mathematical modeling, numerical methods, sound physical understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals

The intern will aid in delivering value to Pfizer’s product pipeline by contributing to new model development and development of new computational tools. The interns will share their learnings across the broader R&D organization.
