Position Summary
The Nurse Supervisor is a licensed professional who is responsible for overseeing the clinical activities for a specific community practice.This role works in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Operations to oversee clinical management for a defined ambulatory population, according to standardized procedures and in collaboration with a physician advisor.Provides oncology nursing care within scope of license in collaboration with the physician site lead.Professional practice as a health team member is defined by departmental policies with institutional approval. Emphasis is placed on health promotion and patient education, combining the qualities of both nursing and medicine.Acts as a patient advocate in all ethical and legal aspects.
Supervises RNs, LVNs, MA’s and other clinical staff within the clinical location.Partners with the Practice Director and Regional Nurse leader on staffing, which includes, hiring, making work assignments, coaching, training, evaluating job performance and clinical competencies, and administering disciplinary actions, as appropriate. Participates in planning for financial, capital equipment and facilities needs of the Community Practice and related programs, including participation in and managing to the operating budget. Actively participates with peers, subordinates, and supervisors in constructive problem solving. Contributes to quality improvement initiatives, and corrective actions required to address regulatory and accreditation standards.
This opportunity is a full-time exempt position.This clinic is open Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, closed weekends and holidays.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Assumes oversight of direct clinical management of a defined patient population, according to standardized procedures and in collaboration with a physician advisor.
- Works with Practice leadership to develop solutions and systems to meet/exceed budgetary growth and targets.
- Monitors and audits the purchasing and functioningof all clinical equipment and supplies.
- Integral member of the management team, leading initiatives on employee engagement, staff development, etc…
- Assists in developing methods and systems for provision of medical care and overall department operations.
- Maintains open lines of communication with the physician and multidisciplinary health team regarding patient information.
- Collaborates with the Utilization Coordinator and the Financial Counselor with obtaining chemo authorization and co-pay quotes.
- Communicates with COH departments to maintain functionality of all clinical equipment and supplies.
- Works with the Nursing Director to develop and implement staff education activities; Coaches staff and partners with the Director to counsel staff on behavior and clinical issues.
- Ensures that employees provide services that are accurate, reliable, courteous and timely.
- Supports and promotes the efforts of all care providers to deliver quality care.
- Coordinates site onboarding, orientation and ongoing competency assessment for all clinical staff (NP, RN, LVN, and MA)
- Supervises clinical staff in the delivery of quality care, treatment and service delivery by serving as a role model.
- Ensures that all professional and regulatory standards are met and maintained.
- Promotes collaboration and teamwork among all members of the health care team.
- Effectively communicates with all customers and team members to meet organization goals and customer services expectations.
- Leads and participates in performance improvement activities to evaluate the program's effectiveness in meeting patient care and departmental needs.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required
- Minimum of three (3) years of RN experience
- Previous supervisory or program coordination experience (preferred)
- Current CA Registered Nurse
- BLS certification (AHA)
- OCN certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $53.76 - $89.78 / hour
