Job Description
Semester part-time adjunct faculty member with responsibility for teaching in the graduate program, focusing primarily on the clinical practice setting, and incorporating evidence-based practice into teaching activities.
The position includes pre-planning and post-semester grading periods and may be renewed based on the needs of the program, satisfactory student evaluations, and recommendation from course faculty. Work assignments and locations vary, but will involve some in-person, on-campus obligations. Clinical Instructors are directed by course faculty and report to the Graduate Programs Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the attainment of clinical competencies for students precepted in a clinical setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the attainment of clinical competencies for students precepted in a clinical setting.
2. Maintain current clinical competency and knowledge of current evidence in the literature required to evaluate student performance in the clinical settings assigned.
3. Use virtual communication to engage in frequent, thorough, and timely communication with students, didactic faculty, and preceptors.
a. Provide feedback to students on their clinical course progress.
b. Meet with students as requested or when necessary to address student performance concerns. Provide students with a recommended plan for clinical improvement as needed and follow up to determine if student performance improves.
c. Collaborate with the didactic course faculty regularly.
4. Conduct at least two clinical conferences with each preceptor and student. Ensure course Clinical Evaluation is completed at midterm and end of semester and reviewed with preceptor and student and didactic course faculty. Communicate in writing with students and the didactic course faculty if student is not passing at midterm or at the end of the course.
5. Monitor clinical hours quarterly to ensure students are on track to complete hours during the semester. Review patient logs submitted by students for accuracy and completeness.
6. Follow agency guidelines for any exposures and direct students for the appropriate follow-up.

Minimum Experience:
• Earned baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
• Earned master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.
• Demonstrated knowledge, competence, and experience in an advanced nursing practice role
(1 yr. minimum)
• Excellent organizational, and written and oral interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Experience:
• Doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university by the date of appointment;
• Experience as a clinical educator;
• Teaching experience in higher education;
• Ability to use and integrate technology in nursing education;
• Current clinical practice as an NP.
