The HealthKit team is a diverse, hard-working, and passionate group of engineers working at the center of Apple’s strategy to improve how people manage their health - private, secure storage and sync of health information.

The HealthKit team is seeking an exceptional engineering manager to lead engineering efforts within HealthKit. As Apple continues to ship more health features and enable more health data streams, constantly improving our systems for modeling, storing, moving and computing over health data is critical for our users. This is a great opportunity to impact Health across platforms and across initiatives including Health, Fitness, Research, APIs, Privacy and low level systems.

Description
In this role, you will support an existing and growing team to evolve HealthKit to support an increasing amount and variety of health data and to build new functionality to support health data related features.


Core Responsibilities
- Lead the investigation, analysis and development of engineering work in HealthKit to support growing demands on the framework by increase customer use.
- Lead a highly talented team of software engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to handle various hardware and systems constraints to ensure HealthKit scales to meet ongoing challenges
- Work with leaders across Health SW and Apple to deliver an extraordinary user experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 5+ years managing engineering teams that design complex software systems
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience leading cross-functional projects that have had a tangible impact on the direction of the org
  • Strong organizational skills and experience working on large multi-functional teams
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and design skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
