Radiation Therapist (Oncology)

Job type: Full-time 40 hrs a week

Hours: Mon - Fri 6:00am - 2:30pm. You will not work evenings, weekends or be on call!

Our Radiation Therapists are skilled medical professionals providing individualized treatment plans to monitor, treat and offer support to patients and their families. Our Radiation therapy deliver methods include external beam radiation therapy, internal radiation therapy (brachytherapy) and systematic radiation therapy.

  • Portrays professional demeanor and conduct in dealing with all patients, and staff by upholding the COH mission and values.

  • Assures that all department rules and regulations are followed. Observes all radiation safety measures for patients and personnel.

  • Maintains all equipment in safe and satisfactory working order, and report all defects, deficiencies or problems to service engineer, physicist, and lead therapist.

  • Relays important information regarding treatments to appropriate staff, and or family members in a professional timely manner.

  • Assures quality and accuracy on patients’ charts and report any mistakes to physics staff and lead therapist.

  • Maintains clinical proficiency at all times.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Must have a 2- or 4-year degree in the field of Radiation Therapy, or certificate in an accredited radiation therapy program is required.

Minimum Experience

  • One-year recent experience in an acute care facility as a nursing assistant or equivalent

Required Certification/Licensure

  • Must have an active BLS, preferably through the American Heart Association

  • Must have obtained the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in radiation therapy or show proof of working towards this certification.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $36.72 - $60.47 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
