Summary

The Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking to hire a part-time, board-certified, fellowship-trained Urologist at the academic rank of Assistant Professor.  The anticipated start date is August 2024.

The candidate will have completed a U.S. Urology Residency, must have an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas, and must be Board certified by the American Board of Urology.

Expectations for this position include:

  • Focusing on several areas of academic activity, including supporting the department's research agenda through participation in clinical research trials, pursuing educational contributions such as training and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, and participating in departmental and BCM programs and committees.   Active participation in regional and national academic scientific organizations and programs will be expected.
  • Being responsible for providing clinical care at departmental clinical practice sites, and at the affiliated hospitals of Baylor College of Medicine, holding and maintaining permanent, valid, and unrestricted licenses to provide patient care in the State of Texas, and complying with Baylor MedCare and Baylor Medicine credentialing criteria and applicable policies.
  • Supporting the clinical activities, both in the clinic and operative settings, of the Ben Taub Hospital Urology Service, as assigned by the Department Chair and the Hospital Chief of Service.  Specialty expertise and fellowship training in Urologic Oncology would be strongly desirable for these activities.
  • Obtaining hospital credentialing at the primary Baylor College of Medicine teaching hospitals, including Baylor-St. Luke's Medical Center, the MEDVAMC, Ben Taub Hospital, and TCH.
  • Participating fully in departmental faculty on-call systems at the Baylor hospital affiliates.
