Summary

The Department of Otolaryngology is in seek of a Research Coordinator, level 1.   The department of Otolaryngology located within the largest medical center globally, provides compassionate and exceptional care, cutting-edge research, extensive education and training opportunities to prepare our next generation of providers for prominent national and international positions.

The candidate will assit research team with patients/study subjects' day-to-day coordination.

Job Duties

  • Interviews, screen and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
  • May correspond with patient throughout study.
  • Collects, processes, ships, and maintains paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database. May perform Venipuncture (blood draws), EKGs/ECGs and obtain vital signs on study participants.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents for research studies.
  • Schedules research participant for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol.
  • Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party.
  • Follows standard operating procedures as detailed in each study's Manual of Operations.
  • Orders supplies and equipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Medical Degree.
  • Patient care experience.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
