The Senior Manager provides collaboration/leadership to leaders and employees across the various entities within City of Hope. The Senior Manager will drive HR activities that align the business strategy with the human capital strategy to positively impact business performance. The Senior Manager will consult on a wide range of Talent Development practices, operational and analytical activities including, but not limited to, employee development and engagement, organizational design and culture, performance, leadership, and team effectiveness. The individual in this role will be a key contributor to strategic initiatives that facilitate HR effectiveness and will be responsible for developing and deploying HR best practices to key stakeholders.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Reimagine first year experience for all new hires which includes Day of Welcome, Architects of Hope V2, and Leadership Essentials. This includes program evaluation, change proposal development, delivery, and successful execution of integrated efforts resulting in key metric driven performance indicators being satisfied. Additional responsibilities include the introduction, maintenance, and measurement of a consistent stay interview process to support the success of the reimagined first year experience.
  • Co-leads overall employee/physician engagement effort with an emphasis on annual census and pulse engagement survey project management including a best practice approach to vendor management, change management, internal communications, leading and influencing engagement champions and action teams, action planning and execution, and distribution and presentation of results reports to executives and their teams. Responsible for measuring program and experience effectiveness and partnering with the HR Business Partner team and leadership on the work.
  • Co-leads interventional work in collaboration with internal HR groups and client group stakeholders. This includes but is not limited to leading client intakes, stay interviews, team building, sensing sessions, and climate/culture assessments. Ensures complete and effective follow-up to these engagements including results report development, delivery, and follow-up in collaboration with internal HR groups and client group stakeholders.
  • Supports responsibilities are related to organizational effectiveness owned processes including but not limited to performance management and succession management. Provides learning and development facilitation when needed. May lead day to day work of department analyst when and where appropriate.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with emphasis in organizational development, behavioral sciences, human resources, or business management; four additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.
  • Fifteen plus years of experience in OD & Learning and Development grounded work in large fast paced organizations. Strong preference in employee experience and engagement, new employee first year experience/onboarding, competency model development and integration, performance management and succession management. Strong preference for experience in a large multi-state healthcare system environment.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $61.23 - $102.25 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
