Summary
The Administrative Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations for education activities in the Department of Obstetrics in Gynecology, which includes supervision of staff for the Clerkship, Residency and Fellowship programs. The Administrative Manager assists the Program Directors and Program Managers in developing and maintaining the educational quality of all training programs and ensuring compliance with LCME and ACGME accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements. The Administrative Manager functions as a liaison between the institutional GME Office, participating clinical sites, and other departments, and provides administrative leadership and guidance to Program Directors and Coordinators. The Manager is the first responder when issues arise that need to be quickly addressed, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders (Associate Chair for Education, Program Directors, Program Managers), and it is the responsibility of the person in that role to determine the best course of action for multiple situations.

Responsibilities*
Leadership/Management:

Lead a team of four GME staff members (Clerkship Coordinator, Residency Manager and two Fellowship Managers.) This includes ensuring proper training, day-to-day monitoring of duties, approval of time, weekly individual meetings, weekly all hands meetings, and review of projects. The Administrative Manager also completes annual staff evaluations and determines salary merit increases in collaboration with the CDA, Program Directors and Associate Chair for Education.
Provide administrative oversight for the Clerkship, Residency and 11 Fellowship programs. This involves weekly meetings to go over any upcoming program projects, brainstorming ways programs can respond to national or institutional changes and review of each programs budget. This also includes providing instruction when new programs or policies are implemented. Partner with faculty leaders to understand new policies and work together on implementation.
Participate in program and department-level policy development, ensure adherence to policy, including institutional and federal regulations.
Financial Management:

Partner with the finance team to develop an education budget for the Center for Education, which includes all GME programs.
Continual monitoring and adjustment to programmatic spending.
Partner with leadership to review programmatic spending and adjust expenditures as needed.
Education Hub Management:

The Education Hub is managed by Dr. Maya Hammoud. This role will support educational hub activities, including simulations, certifications, and trainings, like the ECO Course and electronic fetal monitoring. This role will also support CME activity including weekly M&M sessions.

Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's Degree is required
Management or supervisory experience is required
More than 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience is required
Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills and attention to detail are required
Demonstrated interest in education and Women's Health
Must be able to work as part of a team that values brainstorming and collaboration, as well as capacity to work independently and take initiative
Experience in project or program management
Demonstrated ability to work independently and think critically
Demonstrated ability to advocate for a team or a program
Desired Qualifications*
Previous experience as a supervisor or team lead is desired.
Knowledge of Graduate Medical Education processes and procedures is highly desired
Knowledge of Undergraduate Medical Education knowledge is highly desired.
Experience providing input on financial decisions is preferred
Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies and procedures is preferred.
