A Staff Scientist position is available in the lab of Dr. Ravi Salgia. He is the Arthur & Rosalie Kaplan Chair in Medical Oncology at City of Hope's comprehensive cancer center. There, he leads over 100 medical oncology faculty as professor and chair of the Department ofMedical Oncology & Therapeutics Research.
As a successful candidate, you will:
· Be responsible for high quality scientific written scientific documents for funding applications and publications, including but not limited to writing and editing clinical trials, grant proposals, scientific manuscripts for peer review, white papers, and other scientific documents. This position is also expected to search for new funding opportunities and assist with updating reference materials.
· Work closely with laboratory and clinical researchers to facilitate the development and enhancement of extramural grant proposals and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
· Interact with various clinicians and researchers to coordinate biospecimens and informatics.
· Develop systematic databases with members on campus.
· PhD or MD degree in life or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline with demonstrated evidence of research experience and publications in Journals is required or a Master’s degree with at least three years of scientific writing experience in a healthcare/research/academic environment.
· NIH or DOD research grant writing (R01 level, not post-doctoral fellowships).
· Familiarity with data and statistical analysis techniques, graphing methods, and interpretation of laboratory and clinical data.
· Knowledge of medicine and medical related projects is preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $38.67 - $123.37 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
