As a successful candidate, you will:

The UX-UI Experience Designer is a key member of the Digital Marketing team within the Marketing group and will play a critical role in the success of City of Hope’s marketing, brand awareness, and lead generation and prospecting initiatives.

This position will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of City of Hope’s various digital assets including the brand website - cityofhope.org. The incumbent will ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design. This also includes creating both functional and appealing features that address our audiences’ needs and help grow our patient base and awareness.

The UX-UI Experience Designer’s responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements, and building navigation components. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools.

The UX-UI Experience Designer will demonstrate a desire for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX design problems by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology.

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with product managers, developers, internal and external creative teams, and marketing teams to develop online user experiences for multiple audiences that achieve enterprise system growth goals.
  • Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes. Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like.
  • Design UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets/modules for our digital assets. Test UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.
  • Develop and conceptualize a comprehensive UX/UI design experience strategy for the brand.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities to analyze and predict user behavior.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness).
  • Adhere to brand style standards on typography and graphic design.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Your qualifications should include:

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 4 years of UX/UI design experience for digital products or services.
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: CMS (preferably Drupal), Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, MS 360 and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A portfolio of professional UX/UI design work for both web and mobile platforms.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $41.92 - $64.97 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
