Job Description

Summary

The Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Patient Support Services who will be responsible for coordination of care for pulmonary and sleep patients, including managing orders, scheduling patient appointments for office visits, surgeries, tests, or procedures. This individual will manage and coordinate patient referrals, as well as provide administrative support for physicians as needed.

Job Duties

  • Independently manages clinical administrative documentation.
  • Coordinates with health care facilities for patient surgeries, tests, or procedures.
  • Communicates preoperative instructions and requirements for medical clearance to patients; the senior coordinator may address financial issues regarding surgeries or procedures.
  • Assembles medical records and insurance information for patient appointments.
  • Orders specialized supplies or equipment needed for surgeries or procedures.
  • May assist with insurance pre-authorizations or issues.
  • Provides administrative support for physicians as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some workng medical insurance knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Concur SAP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior patient relations experience.
