As a successful candidate, you will:
Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties and analysis functions in support of the day-to-day operations of a department/program/function. Resolves problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department. Prepares monthly and other related budget reports, perform accounts payable, and financial ledgers reconciliation duties to provide analysis, review and oversight of grants and contracts. Interprets the funding agency and City of Hope policies and procedures and effectively communicates with Sponsored Research and Corporate Accounting. Audits and authorizes forms to comply with policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the areas of time and effort, travel per diem, purchasing, etc. Does not have direct supervisory responsibility. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Coordinates and performs complex administrative tasks necessary to accomplish the administrative components of the department/project/program.
- Performs a variety of duties which may include department/program administration, organizational analysis, fiscal oversight, facilities coordination, systems review and personnel management. Accurately prepares internal City of Hope forms for such processes such as check requests, travel vouchers, on-payroll transfers, salary transfers, RAS, etc. Assists in the management and expense monitoring of all the division cost centers and accounts.
- Closes expired cost centers in a timely manner. Delegates clerical tasks.
- Works with the PI/Program Administrator/Director in resolving administrative problems.
- Performs work that requires interpretation of policy.
- Interprets, monitors and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures.
- Participates in short and long-range planning and policy or program development by analyzing operational policies, resource utilization, etc. and developing recommendations for department management.
- Assists Directors in budget and grant preparation by gathering, analyzing and reporting data. Provides projections and recommendations as requested. Monitors awarded budgets and grants and reports variances. Provides projections and recommendations as requested. Coordinates grant reapplication process and foundation reporting process. Performs time and effort reports for all foundation, government funded and any other grants.
- Receives and disburses funds, maintaining compliance with the Cash Management Policy.
- Coordinates personnel actions for department staff and/or faculty.
- Provides recommendations based on significant knowledge of the department’s history, professional objectives and activities.
- Researches, gathers, analyzes & summarizes data for reports.
- The Department of Supportive Care Medicine and the Sheri & Les Patient and Family Resource Center utilize a staff leadership model and every employee is expected to take a leadership role in the department. Employees will also be expected to actively participate in marketing, educational and group programs, program development and fundraising efforts, and outreach to patients, families, other City of Hope departments and the community.

Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience may substitute for degree
- 2-3 years related experience in business administration and administrative analysis (budgets, grant accounting, facility or personnel support).

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $32.00 - $40.34 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
