As a successful candidate, you will:
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for provisioning, configuring, operating, assisting, supporting and maintaining the Storage Area Network (SAN) and backup/recovery infrastructure to ensure security, reliability, availability and performs optimally in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The candidate must be able to perform in both a proactive and reactive manner. The candidate will proactively monitor the infrastructure as well as respond to alerts and handle tickets/requests in order to resolve issues in respect to SLAs. In addition, this position is expected to identify and promote best practices. This position participates in on-call rotation that requires after-hours support and may also adjust work hours to perform maintenance tasks at times least impactful to customers.
- Maintain and support backup/storage infrastructure in a physical or virtual environment. This includes: capacity planning, disk space management, forecasting, asset management, performance management, and problem-solving.
- Use monitoring tools to analyze performance in order to proactively identify possible issues and resolve. Tools to also be used to understand infrastructure and to optimize in order to increase performance.
- Work on problem and service request tickets.
- Be an ambassador to the team in order to work with stakeholders on understanding their needs and concerns. Clearly communicate with stakeholders at a non-technical level to build confidence and trust.
- Respond to alerts in responsible areas in order to resolve issues in a timely fashion.

Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience defined as an amount equal to Minimum Experience in addition to the Minimum Experience.
- 5-8 years
- A minimum of one Certification must be obtained within 18 months:
- MCSA; MCSM ; MCM ; RHCSA ; RHCE ; IBM CSA ; Solaris 11 ; CCA ; CCAA ; MCSE ; MCSM ; NCDA ; ICSP
- IBM XIV IBM SVC ; NBU

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $49.75 - $79.59 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
