Baylor College of Medicine and Department Summary:

The Psychology Division in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is recruiting a Pediatric Neuropsychologist to join our Psychology Division and support the growth of Texas Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas .  This neuropsychologist will join our growing team of more than 45 psychologists and neuropsychologists who currently practice throughout the Houston area, and 2 to3 psychologists who will be practicing in Austin. This is a faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank, with a strong clinical focus. In addition to patient care, all faculty members are expected to contribute to the College's academic mission.  Both independent and collaborative research/scholarship opportunities are available through partnership with other Division members, as well as colleagues across the system.

Austin is named one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas across the US each year, significantly increasing the number of families seeking pediatric healthcare care in the Central Texas region.  Texas Children's North Austin Campus will serve Austin families with the same high-quality patient care that's made Texas Children's Hospital #2 in the nation.

Texas Children's began its expansion into Austin in March 2018 with the opening of Texas Children's Urgent Care Westgate, and now includes 18 Texas Children's Pediatrics locations, as well as outpatient specialty care and maternal fetal medicine practices.  Our new hospital, under construction at 9835 North Lake Creek Parkway, will join our comprehensive and growing suite of pediatric, urgent care and specialty care services around the city in February 2024.

Summary

We are a seeking a generalist in pediatric neuropsychology who has expertise with a broad range of populations and ages. Referring medical subspecialty partners include Hematology/Oncology, Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Endocrinology among others. While most evaluations are conducted on an outpatient basis, we expect the need for inpatient consultation services and participation in multidisciplinary teams to grow over time. Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must be graduates of an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical, school, or counseling psychology with specialization in neuropsychology; must have completed an APA-accredited psychology internship; must have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology that complies with the training guidelines of APA Division 40; must be eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in Texas; and must be ABCN board eligible or have ABCN board certification.
