General Information:

James Madison University (JMU) School of Nursing invites applications for a Tenure
Track, 10-month full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2024 (negotiable). The School of Nursing (SON) offers CCNE accredited Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. Teaching responsibilities will focus on graduate nursing program needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities for this position include teaching, scholarship and
professional, community, and/or university service. This position requires in person and/or virtual teaching in the classroom, laboratory, and practicum settings. Teaching responsibilities will focus on graduate nursing program needs, graduate student advising, and development of student projects.




Qualifications:

Qualifications for this tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor include the following requirements: At least one graduate degree in nursing, including a doctorate in nursing or a related field and current advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) licensure and certification with a primary care focus. ABD candidates will be considered; degree must be in hand within six months of hire date. Preferred qualifications include teaching experience at the graduate level of nursing education, three years of recent practice experience, and scholarship appropriate to rank.
