The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University seeks an Instructor-Limited Term for the Pulmonary division who will serve as an Interventional Pulmonary (IP) Fellow. The IP Fellowship/Limited Instructors are selected during their PGY7 year and/or after completion of Pulmonary Fellowship to provide leadership and to fellows/interns for the following year. This individual is selected based on their exceptional clinical and leadership skills. This position will be replaced every year with a new IP Fellow to serve in this leadership role for Pulmonary and Critical Care IP Fellowship Program. This position is considered to not be on tenure track and is for one year only.

Responsibilities

Resident Education:

• Responsible for oversight/coordination of morning reports, noon conferences, journal club, (medical knowledge self-assessment program), monthly simulation lab requirements and ultrasound labs.

Administrative:

• Oversee and facilitate monthly morbidity, mortality, and improvement (present cases and oversee).
• Fellow quarterly meetings.
• Complete one45 evaluations during clinic rotations.

Required Qualifications

MD or equivalent; completed a 3 year Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship and have a Georgia Medical license

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;

- Evidence of ability as a teacher;

- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;

- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,

- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
