City of Hope Medical Groupseeks to recruit another fellowship-trained Head and Neck Surgeon to join our growing team in Duarte, CA. This new position requires experience and focused interest in reconstruction and rehabilitation of complex head and neck defects.

TheDepartment of Surgery, Division of Head and Neck Surgery, is seeking a board certified or eligible otolaryngologist with fellowship training in advanced oncologic head and neck surgery to meet the needs of our growing program in Southern California.This individual is expected to support our clinical and research programs in Head and Neck Oncology with an 80% clinical /20% academic obligation. Scholarly contributions to further the academic mission of the division will be expected such as translational and/or outcomes research, and participation in clinical trials. The Head and Neck Surgeon can look forward to providing patient-centered care in collaboration with a world class, nationally recognized multidisciplinary team of head and neck oncology providers.

Position Highlights:

· Clinical sites in San Gabriel Valley in Southern California

· Established and expanding referral base in Head and Neck Surgery in the region

· Wonderful colleagues and a collaborative team environment

· 80% Clinical and 20% academic obligations; The position entails 3 days of clinical work in Duarte, CA and 1 day clinical work in the community sites (South Pasadena practice sites), and 1 protected day for scholarly achievements.

· Experience and completed Fellowship training with emphasis in complex microvascular freeflap reconstruction of head and neck defects; this position mandates a lead role in facilitating reconstructive needs for the entire Head and Neck Division (70/30 reconstructive/extirpative)

· Lead role in Dermato-oncology and surgical management of cutaneous cancers of the head and neck

· Generous salary and incentive compensation. Relocation assistance will be available.

· Competitive Base Salary: $350k-450k, plus incentive compensation and benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted to match special skillset and training, years of experience.

· Diplomat of the Council for Advanced Training in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgeryfrom programs with dedicated training in complex reconstruction of head and neck defects.

· BC/BE Otolaryngologist

· Evidence of past scholarly contributions and academic growth trajectory

· Academic record consistent with appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor level at City of Hope National Medical Center

· Selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license.

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
