We are seeking a full-time Nuclear Pharmacist to join the Beckman Research Institute at City of Hope Radiopharmacy. Under general supervision from the Nuclear Pharmacist-in-Charge, the Nuclear Pharmacist will support significant research contributions and design, execute, evaluate, and present experimental results. Key responsibilities include demonstrating advanced knowledge of radiopharmaceutical radiolabeling, compounding, and dispensing; following radiation safety principles; and maintaining adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory guidelines. Additionally, the role involves ensuring the proper training of Radiopharmacy Technicians and staying updated on Nuclear Pharmacy practices.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Ensure radiopharmaceutical products are produced, inspected, released, and stored according to regulatory standards.

  • Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for patient diagnosis and therapy, adhering to Nuclear Pharmacy principles.

  • Perform quality control procedures including radiochemical purity, gamma spectrum analysis, and sterility testing.

  • Calculate required radiopharmaceutical doses for patients, ensuring accuracy for diagnostic or therapeutic use.

  • Oversee or directly compound radioactive materials and reagents for radiopharmaceutical preparation.

  • Conduct or supervise research to develop and improve radiopharmaceuticals and maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited pharmacy school
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory/research setting with demonstrated experience with radiopharmaceutical use.
  • Knowledge of USP 797, USP 823, and proposed USP 825.
  • Current CA Pharmacist License or within 6 months of hire

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $72.83 - $116.53 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
